🔸What are Hormones?

🔹Hormones are chemical messengers produced by glands in the endocrine system (like thyroid, pancreas, adrenal, ovaries/testes).
🔹They travel through the blood and control many body functions such as growth, metabolism, reproduction, mood, and stress response.

🔸Balance of Hormones

🔹Hormonal balance means the right amount of each hormone is present for the body to function properly.
🔹When hormones are balanced → energy, mood, sleep, weight, fertility, and overall health remain stable.
🔹Imbalance (too high or too low) → can cause problems like PCOS, thyroid issues, diabetes, mood swings, infertility, obesity, or fatigue.

⚖️ Simple way to remember: Hormones are like the body’s "orchestra" — if one instrument (hormone) plays too loud or too soft, the whole music (body function) feels off.

🔹Cortisol – A stress hormone made by adrenal glands, helps regulate metabolism, blood sugar, and the body’s response to stress.

🔹Estrogen – A female sex hormone, important for reproductive health, menstrual cycle regulation, and bone strength.

🔹Progesterone – A female hormone that supports pregnancy, prepares the uterus for implantation, and balances estrogen.

🔹Melatonin – Sleep hormone that controls body’s sleep–wake cycle.
